It is based on anonymized routine data provided through the AKTIN infrastructure of the University Medical Centers in Magdeburg and Aachen. New Findings on Lunar Dust
July 9, 2026 - An interdisciplinary research team, including researchers from Magdeburg University Medical Center, has used a newly developed 3D airway model to investigate for the first time how lunar dust affects the human bronchi. The results suggest that lunar dust could impair the airways’ protective and cleansing mechanisms more severely than fine particulate matter on Earth.
